Following the $83.3 million verdict in the defamation trial of E. Jean Carroll, many people think that former president Donald Trump’s lawyer Alina Habba has been fired.
Alina Habba is an American lawyer born in 1984. She graduated from Lehigh University and earned her Juris Doctor from Widener University Commonwealth Law School.
She’s the Managing Partner of Habba, Madaio & Associates LLP, a firm based in New Jersey and New York City.

Is Alina Habba Still Trump Lawyer? Fired News Explained
Following the $83.3 million verdict in the second defamation trial involving E. Jean Carroll, former U.S. President Donald Trump expressed his intention to seek new legal representation.
Ex-president said that he was reportedly interviewing various law firms for the appeal of what he terms an “unfair witch hunt” and a “defamation sham.”
This move was widely interpreted as a decision to part ways with his current lawyer, Alina Habba, who is also known as Counselor Sparklemagic.
However, it’s important to note that Habba does not typically argue Trump’s federal appellate cases.
In the appeal of the first Carroll verdict, Trump was represented by former Assistant U.S.
Attorney Emil Bove and Todd Blanche, left Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft to represent Trump in his various criminal cases.
Moreover, in Florida, an appeal is underway in the 11th Circuit to overturn the million-dollar sanctions.
Habba secured that by filing a RICO suit against Hillary Clinton and others, reported Above the Law.
Similarly, Jesse Binnall’s firm is leading this appeal, with Habba still associated with the case.
In the DC Circuit, Trump’s criminal appeals are handled by D. John Sauer, the former solicitor general of Missouri.
Despite searching for new lawyers, Trump has not completely cut ties with Habba.
Alina was initially set to leave for the Save America PAC. However, because of her indispensable nature, she was brought back for the Carroll case and a civil fraud trial.
Habba is also involved in a case concerning a server who was sexually harassed at Trump’s Bedminster golf club.
Alina Habba Herself Confirmed That She Hasn’t Been Fired
Alina Habba confirmed on 31 January, in a statement to the Daily Mail, that she would continue to spearhead the MAGA initiative.
She also tweeted, “This is far from over, hashtagging MAGA and TrumpDerangementSyndrome.”
In 2019, Habba became a member of the Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey, conveniently located just an eight-minute drive from her law firm.
It was here that the lawyer and Donald Trump first became acquainted. Since then, Habba has represented Trump in several legal cases.
Notably, she served as the lead attorney in the E. Jean Carroll v. Donald J. Trump trial that commenced on 16 January 2024.
Over the span of three days, Federal Judge Lewis Kaplan repeatedly admonished Habba for her approach to cross-examining Carroll and presenting evidence.
Despite this, on 26 January 2024, a jury awarded Carroll $83.3 million in damages against Trump.
Nevertheless, the news about Alina Habba being fired is false and is a misunderstanding.
While Donald Trump publicly announced that he was looking for a new lawyer, Alina Habba is still his lawyer in many important cases.
