Jeff Dewit, an American politician resigned as chair of the state GOP after an audio recording in which he reportedly offered Kari Lake a lucrative job if she left her U.S. Senate race.Â
Jeff Dewit is an American businessman and politician who most recently worked as the chair of the Arizona Republican Party.
Dewit, a member of the Republican Party, took office as the State Treasurer of Arizona in 2015, succeeding Doug Ducey.
In 2017, President Trump nominated Dewit to be chief financial officer of NASA. The U.S. Senate confirmed Jeff DeWit as NASA’s chief financial officer in March 2018.
He resigned from NASA in February 2020 and later joined Trump’s 2020 campaign. Furthermore, Dewit is again in the media prominence after an audio recording of him was leaked.

Jeff Dewitt is making rounds online after a leaked audio tape of him talking with Kari Lake. The audio hinted that he tried to bribe Lake.Secret recordings revealed that Jeff tried to convince Kari, a Republican Senate candidate, to withdraw from the race by offering money from influential sources.
Jeff explained in the audio that the powerful people wanted to make way for a new party ordinary bearer.
Furthermore, Dewit told Kari to keep quiet about the offer after she snubbed his proposal, saying, “this is not about money, it’s about our country.”
It has been said that Kari recorded the audio by herself and it was leaked via Daily Mail which went viral instantly.

Jeff Dewitt resigned as chair of the state GOP on Wednesday and it came as a result of an audio tape leak.
The audio was between Dewitt and Kari Lak, whereh he tried to offer money to Kari. After the audio went viral, people started criticizing him.
In a written statement, Jeff mentioned that Lake’s team had threatened him with the release of a more damaging recording unless he resigned immediately.
Dewitt continued, “I am truly unsure of its contents, but considering our numerous past open conversations as friends, I have decided not to take the risk.”
Furthermore, Jeff was elected to chair the Arizona GOP in January 2023. He served as the chief operating officer for both of Donald Trump’s presidential campaigns in 2016 and 2020.
