What Did Jose Antonio Do?
Laken Riley’s murder suspect’s full name is Jose Antonio Ibarra. Jose didn’t know Laken personally.
Furthermore, Jose was taken into custody and is facing multiple charges related to the death of Laken who was beaten to death.
Riley went running Thursday morning. The UGA police received a call just after noon from someone concerned that Riley hadn’t returned.
About 20 minutes later, police found the student’s body in a wooded area behind Lake Herrick near the intramural field. Riley lived in a nearby neighborhood.
UGA Police Chief Jeff Clark said the attack on the student was a crime of opportunity. So, Antonio didn’t have any motives.
Ibarra is charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, kidnapping, restricting a 911 call, and concealing the death of another.
