Kelvin Kiptum was a renowned Kenyan long-distance runner who was the only person in history to run the marathon in under two hours and one minute in a record-eligible race.

Kenyan Marathon world record holder Kelvin Kiptum has passed away at the age of 24 following a road accident, which came as a shock to the world.
Kelvin, along with his coach, Rwanda’s Gervais Hakizimana, tragically lost their lives in a car accident on a road in western Kenya on Sunday.
Police reported that Kelvin lost control of his vehicle while driving in Kaptagat, southwest Kenya, at 11 pm local time.
As said earlier, Kelvin and his coach lost their lives, while the third person is said to have been taken to the hospital.
